Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Covered z scores, converting normal to standard normal, and binomial distribution, including normal approximation to binomial. Good student -- seemed to understand the problems."
"The student and I discussed an official experiment covered in an article regarding work at home and work at work and whether exercise significantly was more effective depending on the exerciser's location. Additionally, we went through quizzes on the article. The student answered all questions in the quiz correctly, which showed that she understood. I left the student with the SPSS exercise and quiz."
"The student filled me in on his standing in the course. We worked on his second homework assignment. He seemed comfortable with the material. His concern is that he is spending too much time on grammar and spelling (his audio software does not have a spell check/grammar check feature) and that this is holding up his progress. We discussed possible ways of addressing this. Next meeting will be Monday over the phone to complete homework assignment two."
"We went over partial fraction decomposition and reviewed long division of polynomial functions. We also completed problems of integrals of the aforementioned functions. We also went over how to use trig substitution to solve for integrals of functions and went over the homework for the types of problems above."
"During this session, various factoring problems were reviewed in preparation for the upcoming quiz (difference/ sum of cubes, difference of squares, factoring by grouping, quadratics, and the quadratic formula). A review worksheet and homework textbook problems were completed to review for the quiz."
"Module 1 review is complete. The student is ready to take the test prior to the next session. She had grasped the different equation forms, and does basic algebra operations confidently."
