How can a tutor assist you in conquering Accounting?

When you study accounting, you learn how to manage the flow of money for a business. It is an important role, but it can be complex. At its core, accounting ensures that the company understands where their money is going and why. This may sound like an easy task, but it comes with multiple challenges. When you learn about accounting, you will want to try to make sure that you can handle these issues. It can be difficult to become an expert in an area through classroom learning alone, so if you're interested in professional help, Varsity Tutors will hand-pick an accounting tutor in Scottsdale, AZ, who can work with your individual learning style, abilities, and personality.

Accounting consists of many layers. If you don't understand the most basic skills, then it will be difficult for you to move on. Your personal tutor could help pinpoint the areas in which you are the weakest and devise learning techniques that could help you build a solid base. Varsity Tutors could help you locate a private tutor in Scottsdale who could potentially help with understanding accounting through custom-tailored lessons. Your tutor is a professional, and thus knows that no two students learn in the same way. Therefore, your tutor will teach you in a manner that is interesting and engaging for you. One of the best parts about working with an individual tutor is that you won't have to worry about being the only student who doesn't understand the concept of substance over form. Instead, you will be comfortable enough to ask your tutor questions throughout the learning process.

Session Summaries by Accounting Tutors

Scottsdale, AZ Accounting tutoring
The student and I covered general reading strategies (taking a 5-second break, reading for trajectory, underlining/outlining, topic/scope/purpose, stereotyping the author) and answer-choice analysis strategies. We then spent some time on vocab review and on techniques for targeted vocab studying (making your own flashcards; making up your own mnemonic; using visual symbols; studying short lists of related words). She has an SSAT prep book that has several good vocab lists and great vocab-building tips, so I encouraged her to take advantage of those. She has a solid understanding of the content (especially on the math section), although she could definitely benefit from studying more vocabulary.

The student and I covered her AP problems at her house.  Most of these were related rates.  She does very well with implicit differentiation, struggled only with not knowing the many, many steps to these multi-level problems, but we reviewed each after completion.  She's got a good handle on parametric equations.

During this session we reviewed an old test in order to prepare the student for a retake test on Thursday. Some of the topics covered were bonding, VSEPR, and hybridization. He put some emphasis on covering the different types of bonds and we covered it quite extensively during the session. He was able to describe each type by the end of the session.

We reviewed for the student's quiz which is tomorrow and made sure he understood solving multi-step equations containing the distributive property, variables on both sides of the equation, etc. I taught some shortcuts for solving the bigger division problems since he is not allowed to use a calculator. By the end of the session, he could review the short cuts and seemed more excited for the quiz.

The student decided to drop statistics so we will not be continuing tutoring in this subject, but we're still doing macroeconomics. Today we worked on aggregate supply and demand and then I took a look at a paper on China's entry into the WTO and suggested some revisions.
