"We covered the basic ACT outline and worked through one part of a writing section and one part of a math section. The student was amazed at how much easier the ACT felt than the SAT. Her biggest problem on the ACT will be to keep pace and engagement while working through the large sections."
"During the session I graded the practice ACT test the student took, and she improved her English and Reading scores. Based on the math section results, we decided to work on basic math skills to be able to quickly solve problems that she otherwise knows how to solve-- especially plane geometry. For homework, I assigned 20 timed math problems."
"The student scored a 23 on his own timed English section, which was an increase. We covered using direct verb tenses, how to analyze relevant points of the passage, and some basic grammar skills. We then finished up a practice science section. The student is clearly a visual learner who would benefit by redrawing certain diagrams to complete the thought process. In Math, he learned unit conversions, cross-multiplying, and the "line test" in trigonometric problems to determine the opposite side. Practice makes perfect."
