Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on assignments due Friday for his Reading project on My Daniel. We discussed his vocabulary activity and worked on half of his Literature Web. We reviewed two chapters together. The student and I read from The Finishers and Walk Two Moons. She was eager to participate and was able to answer all of the comprehension questions I gave her. The student and I worked on lower case letters, writing both upper and lower case letters, and reading new words."
"The student completed an English homework assignment, and then worked on math problems online. She likes answering math problems when it is a race to finish. She scored 100% on one and was second place on another. Then I had her correct spelling words and write definitions for her vocabulary words."
"We reviewed vocabulary words for a test next week and played games to act out vocabulary words. We also reviewed recitation piece we've been working on and drew images of the recitation piece. The student enjoys singing, so she sang the recitation piece in order to understand the feeling of the piece - that worked well with her."
"We read "Cinderella", worked on sight words from the student's teacher's list, practiced letter formation, and she read aloud to me from a simple book. We also practiced the six "trick" words from her class list. She is getting better at sounding out 3 and 4 letter words."
"We read a book and tested for comprehension/questions on story events, pronunciation, finding information in a passage, description of words, synonyms and antonyms, and present, past, and future wording."
"We read a couple of books together. The student did more of her phonics pages, and we went over sounds and words together. She did more on the I-pad. I am seeing some progress now in her letter and word recognition!"
