Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The expressions with TENER, the direct object pronouns and the weather conditions in Spanish were covered today. The student practiced writing and listening comprehension. He is doing great in his Spanish sessions. His pronunciation is excellent. We also practiced oral communication."
"The student and I completed lesson 19 today. We began with a warm-up conversation where we talked about various topics, and I provided corrections when necessary. We then moved on to the main lesson and focused on translations and sentence completions. Today we focused on vocabulary, the imperfect/preterite, and phrasal verbs."
"The student and I corrected a dot-to-dot numbers worksheet and a vocabulary sheet. We reviewed the days of the week, months of the year, and the dates. They did a worksheet on the months. We watched a video and they completed a handout related to it. We started with the weather and they wrote definitions for weather phrases. We went on the weather web site for Madrid, Spain, and practiced weather expressions. The student has 3 weather handouts and a vocabulary sheet. They are doing well."
"The student and I covered a few grammar points: preterite vs imperfect, conditional, and present progressive. He spoke to me about his analysis of a poem I sent him, and a summary of a short story he read. We spoke in Spanish at times, and he even told me a joke in Spanish. This was a great session!"
"The student and I covered greetings and other basic conversation starters. She did fairly well with everything. She had a fantastic attitude and seems very eager to learn more Spanish. I suggested that she copy down verb conjugation charts to practice."
"The student and I did a massive review again today. We added some new material, such as new verbs and flashcards. For the most part, we stayed in the same subjects we've been dealing with: preterite, present, and future tense. We went over a few stem changes in the preterite. We also went over other vocabulary flashcards. We also did some translating, in which he is monumentally improving. Overall, he is putting in a good amount of effort into the lessons."
