Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today I met with the student and we discussed finding equations of lines, the different forms of an equation of a line, and how to determine the shortest distance between a point and a line. The student seemed to have a pretty good understanding of the concepts when we finished our session."
"Student 1 worked on the basics of quadratic equations. She had to solve multi-step problems using skills from the prior unit. We will continue to work on this area. With student 2, we began studying for his unit test on Tuesday. He worked on his homework, which included topics from the entire unit. He did very well solving the problems after he had the help in getting started."
"Focused on Reading Comprehension, a bit more Math, and - especially - the 'Ability' (Patterns) section. The student made enormous progress in Ability. We do need to keep working on Estimation."
"The student has a math test on Tuesday so we covered a few problem areas to prepare him for the test. This was mainly tangent function graphing and transformations. Then applied problems using period, frequency, amplitude and trig functions."
"We worked through a second math test finish to start. We decided it might be a good idea for the student to start in the back where the hardest problems are and work to the front, towards the easier problems. This strategy gave her more time on the harder problems."
"Today, the student worked on a translation exercise assigned to her by her teacher. She worked through the reading comprehension questions and some written translations as well. I am thrilled to hear about her recent grade improvements, and her ability to translate text is becoming more instinctive and natural with each session. Great stuff!"
