Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today's lesson was a compilation of rectangles missing rectangular pieces. The students had to either find the area of the whole shape and subtract the missing piece, or break the original shape into two smaller rectangles. It was a very nice last day, and I enjoyed working with these scholars."
"We worked over simple postulates and proofs from his Geometry textbook. We worked on problems in chapter two. We also worked on a few trig problems in his Algebra II class."
"The student and I reviewed for her Geometry test over area using apothems and perimeter of polygons. We worked for an extended period of time to prepare for the exam over chapter 11. She seemed very prepared for the test."
"During this session the student went through a worksheet concerning the same topics we went over the previous week as well as angles of elevation and depression and the distance and midpoint formulas. He initially needed help a bit with 30-60-90 triangles, but as he progressed through the worksheet, he became more comfortable with them. The only other difficulty he had was occasionally figuring out where the angles of elevation or depression were located within a given problem. Nice work this session!"
"The student and I worked on the second lesson of Chapter 10: Finding Arc Measures. He completed his homework assignment, and he was able to do most of it independently, asking for assistance on 4 or 5 problems. After completion of the assignment, we reviewed the chapter vocabulary and he created illustrations of the terms."
"We covered trigonometric functions to review for the student's test. He primarily wanted help with solving trig equations, but we also practiced reducing them and proving identities. We reviewed his notes, and I wrote a large variety of problems to help him practice these concepts. He did an excellent job during this session."
