Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student and I had a shorter lesson today. We reviewed for his biology quiz tomorrow over the life-cycle of viruses, as well as working through a bunch of area and volume problems for his geometry test tomorrow."
"We continued to do the review for her test next Tuesday. Next time I will test her on the formulas and see if she has them memorized."
"Reviewed trig functions and moved into translations, reflections, and rotations. Began calculating surface areas."
"During this session, I helped the student prepare for her test on Wednesday. We covered the triangle congruence postulates and how to use them to write proofs for Geometry. Once we got started, she was able to get better as the session went on. We practiced strategies where she first proved the triangles congruent before she moved on to show parts were congruent or that something was a median or isosceles, etc. We also completed her review for her test. She improved throughout this session."
"The student and I prepped for her upcoming retest by reviewing her unit 1 test. She has a strong fundamental base in algebra and needed clarification on only a few topics. We used object demonstrations to illustrate point lines and planes. For each topic reviewed, she was able to articulate what we reviewed in her own words."
"Tonight, the student and I checked over his worksheet on the angles created by a transversal line. We reviewed interior alternative angles, exterior alternative angles, consecutive angles, and corresponding angles. We set up equations and solved for the unknown and the angle measures. At the end, I quizzed him on exactly those. He seemed to have a solid understanding of the concept."
