Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered all types of probability and many related examples, including conditional, theoretical and empirical probabilities. The student has a much better understanding of all these topics."
"The student and I reviewed concepts for her upcoming test, including binomial probability, combinations and permutations."
"We went over basic concepts in statistics - elements, variables, values. We also went over different types of measurements - nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio."
"The student worked on problems dealing with speed, velocity, cost function, revenue function and linear equations in two or three variables. The student did great!"
"The student has been working through quadratic equations. We did two worksheets solving quadratic equations. We solved these problems by finding the roots using a variety of methods (quadratic formula, square roots, etc...). The student's understanding of the material is really very strong, and she's been testing well in the subject. We also worked on Pythagorean theorem problems, which were new but still relatively simple for her to tackle."
"Today the student had math homework regarding patterns, and we spent our session having her finish it. She seems to understand patterns relatively well, and she enjoys the drawing aspect of it. Instead of having her write out the word problems, I had her logically figure it out by using pens to count. She loved that strategy, and she became much more enthusiastic about the word problems when we tried it. She showed me her grades. She has been working hard during our sessions and always insists that she finish her homework."
