Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session we focused on dealing with functions and solution sets for inequalities, including those involving absolute values."
"The student and I did math problems. I gave him problems to do and told him to re-do the problems we went over in our prior session so that he can really grasp the concepts."
"The student is slowly improving in her SAT skills and knowledge. She did well on the part of the math section homework she did. However, she did leave many questions blank. We went over all the questions she left blank and noted that she could solve them; it's just a matter of figuring out how to begin. I noted that she will learn strategies for solving these problems and become more used to them the more sections she does. I suggested that she do a full math section each day until the test. We also went over a full reading section, which she did for homework. She missed a few problems in sentence completions and a few in reading comprehension but overall did quite well. Finally, we discussed the essay portion of the exam. We looked over various sample essays and noted why they received the scores they did. We discussed essay structure, thesis, and proper examples. We didn't finish the discussion but will next time. She has a solid basis for her own essay writing, and we will discuss various examples she can use for multiple prompts. We are planning to meet again tomorrow. I assigned her a full math section and full grammar section for homework."
