Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed a take home test on intermolecular forces, as well as another packet on hydrophobic substances."
"We worked on a review for her final, which will be held next week. Some of the review problems are listed for homework and we focused on those first. She needs a high B on the final in order to earn a B in the class."
"This was my first session with the student. She wanted a more relaxed meet and greet session. We briefly reviewed motion and momentum. Her main concern is the math involved in Physic equations, and how to set up linear equations. We talked about the practicality of basic physics. I suggested that she think about each scenario as a real life event, create a hypothesis for where the energy will be increased, and where it will be decreased. This will help her when she completes the math equations to know if her answer makes sense. She actually has a a really great understanding of the concepts and does well when it comes to the vocabulary to make the connections between the words, illustrations, and the equations. We also talked about the grading structure for the University and course expectations. She will have to complete another science course before graduation that will build on the fundamentals learned in this course. We want to be sure that concepts are thoroughly understood before moving on to another topic."
