Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued our work towards improving her LSAT logical reasoning score. We began by going through a number of mastery questions. The questions we are working on now are harder, so her accuracy is down from the start, but she is learning valuable skills that should enable her to improve over time. We went over the questions she missed in great detail. We finished the session by walking through some logic games and also practicing more logical reasoning questions."
"The student and I reviewed her previous practice test in today's session. This enabled us to address some question types that we had not yet discussed, which was very beneficial. I identified that one of her challenges is applying formal logic to this section of the test in order to predict correct answers, so she will be redoing some of her prior sections to practice this skill. Overall, she seems to be improving quickly, and I am very happy with our progress."
"The student and I spent the first hour talking about the sections of the LSAT, how it is timed, and how it is scored. To be competitive for admission, he has to score in the 60th-75th percentile. In the second hour, he and I looked at a previously released LSAT to walk through the kind of problem solving needed in the logic games section. He took to the section easily, and was able to complete questions with just a little guidance from me by the end of the session."
"Today, we covered the verbal section of a practice test that the student had taken. The student feels pretty comfortable with the logic of these sections and only needs to slow down and learn more vocab. We'll continue to work on this. We also covered exponents and square roots from the math section, as the student continues to struggle with these."
"We began with a general review of what to expect on the GRE. The student discussed what she considers her strengths and weaknesses to help find areas that we'll need to emphasize. We worked on data analysis thereafter, with direct instruction on logic/Venn diagrams."
"We continued working through the advanced quant section of the GRE practice questions. The student sits for the GRE on August 22nd."
