Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was a very good session. The student has two assignments due on Tuesday, one of which is a summary of 8 major theologians that were covered in class, so we spent our time review some of the thinkers that we'd had a bit more trouble with. We had a definite breakthrough with Altizer by focusing on the concept of a process/progress--that God moves from transcendence to incarnation in Christ (death of transcendent God) and then to an embedded presence of divine love throughout the world. We also clarified parts of Hamilton and reviewed Tillich. The student will send me her drafts as she finishes them and we will edit them together."
"The student continued to work on her remaining assignments for her theology class. She is doing well! Our hope is she will be finished in the next couple of days."
"The student and I discussed another theological dilemma. This dilemma talked about faith versus reason. The student read and answered the discussion questions. By completing this dilemma, the student only has one more dilemma to complete."
"We worked on the linear optimization problems using the math website as a guide. We were able to get through several example problems, including word problems. She has a 74 in the class, and we hope to maintain or improve on that."
"Today was our final session. My advice for the coming year is to stay on top of the material and not fall behind. Math is a subject that builds on previous knowledge, so it is not easy to dig yourself out of a hole."
"We worked on equations of circles. This was mostly refresher material from the previous school year. We also started working through notes and book work, and the student remembered the material from the previous year well. We worked on her questions through her notes and discussed dimensional analysis. She'll continue working on problems, and we'll talk about them next time."
