Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we covered probability and combinatorics in great detail. The student is very well prepared at this point, but to get the highest score possible, he will have to become more comfortable with the hardest subjects on the test. We will continue to work on these topics, as well as logic, during our next session."
"We began with a discussion of general aspects of the test and assessing the student's greatest need. Exercises were all geometry, with some direct instruction on line formulas in coordinate geometry, classic right triangles, and overlapping figures."
"We continued working through Practice Test #2 in the GRE prep book. We completed Section 3: Verbal and completed the first 13 questions of Section 4: Quant. We will continue with Practice Test #2 during our next session."
"We covered a practice exam with both verbal and quantitative reasoning. We reviewed permutations/combinations and probability. The student had a good attitude towards the material that was reviewed, and she has made progress in both sections. For extra practice, she will finish the practice exam and conduct more online practice."
"We covered both verbal and quantitative sections today. For the verbal, we did more challenging questions in the vocabulary ("discrete") section than in reading comprehension. I think isolating subtle differences between word choices that mean almost the same thing will help the student, we will work on this next time."
"We covered cylinders and circles (surface area and volume) and data analysis, including graph types, frequency tables, mean, median, mode, and standard deviation. We looked at the difference between combinations and permutations."
