I have noticed that the student's vocabulary has improved. She is feeling a lot more confident when speaking in Spanish. During this session, I was also able to read some of her written Spanish and I was surprised to see how well she is able to express herself. Other than some spelling mistakes, the student seems to be able to write well.

The student and I reviewed some concepts that will be on an upcoming retest. We worked on a review in her book, focusing more on the ones she seemed to struggle with. She seemed a little more comfortable with the material by the end of the review. After that, we worked on her homework dealing with point-slope form and graphing lines using the slope. She didn't have many problems with it.

First, I am pleased to note that the student received an A on the Algebra exam that we reviewed for last week. She seemed very excited about her improving grade, and I am proud that she was able to perform so well. In this session, she and I focused on her upcoming Spanish exam. The topics reviewed included informal commands and technology & travel/direction vocabulary. She understands all of the concepts- she just needs to focus on memorizing/learning the vocabulary so that she can utilize the words in a larger context. I'm sure she will do well.

We worked through Practice Test 7 from the GRE Quant prep book. This was a mixed problem set, comprising quantitative comparisons, multiple choice, "select all that apply," free answer, and data interpretation. She was strong in data interpretation and standard deviation questions, and I would consider doing those problems first on the test and leaving Quant Comparisons (usually at the beginning of the test) for last. One of the strategies we used for numerous problems was "make a table"--it is a good fall-back when you are uncertain of other ways to answer a problem. We also reviewed some FOIL, some factoring, and some geometry (circles).
