The student and I completed one worksheet where we had to determine unknown variables as they related to the speed of sound and/or light and the wavelength/frequency. We also completed a review for the entire unit as she has an upcoming test on Friday. I discussed her previous homework with her, which all had gone well. One concept that was difficult for her was how to apply frequency; with some practice and examples she was able to apply the concept with little difficulty. Furthermore, she is in good shape.

During this session I introduced concepts of 1-d motion, 2-d motion and forces. The student was very quick in understanding. We worked on a couple problems in the study book and I told him to work on the rest for chapter 2 and 3 on his own. Overall this went well. The student seems very bright and it seems that we will be able to catch him up very quickly.

We first went over some concepts from the evolution and Mendelian genetics lectures. We then reviewed questions that were online from each of the lectures. The student seems to be doing well with the material. We discussed how to study for his upcoming midterm exam on October 2. I suggested that he review all of the practice questions and concepts, memorize the terms posted online, and take notes on more terms that may be useful from the lectures and readings. He is also going to re-watch the lectures to make sure he understands what the instructor is going to put on the test.
