"Section 5.5, Properties of logarithms. Review sheet on Section 10.3 - ellipses, preparing for final."
"Before this session I created a cheat sheet for the student with all the material that she needs to know for this chapter. We started by briefly reviewing what was covered in our last session and she said she did not have any questions about the material. We then finished reviewing the rest of chapter six - horizontal stretch/ compression, vertical stretch/ compression and combining transformations. We completed some practice problems together and I assigned her some review problems to complete for our next visit. We have completed chapter 6 and just need to go over the review problems and discuss how points change when the graph is stretched or compressed in the horizontal direction. I wrote down all the material from chapter 7 so that we can start it at our next session if there are no issues with the review problems."
"We went over how to solve for equations in which there are multiple variables. We discussed the substitution and the elimination methods."
"We learned how evaluate inverse trigonometric functions. In the beginning we discussed definitions of trigonometric functions then applied them to evaluate expressions. Moreover, we used inverse trigonometric theorems to evaluate inverse trig expression. Finally we used right triangle trigonometry and unit circle to evaluate inverse trigonometric expressions. We also review the unit circle and basic trigonometric functions."
"The student is a fast understanding student. He knows what he is doing, and he is very confident with his Algebra background."
"The student's class is studying trig identities, so today, we practiced proofs with trig identities. It's a little different from the math he has done before, so we worked on strategies for simplifying proofs."
