Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For today, the student worked on several components for his upcoming science expo presentation. Of the components, we were able to complete his introduction, purpose, hypothesis, materials, and procedures sections. After identifying what key items to finish in the time we had, we were able to get some progress going. I saw that at first, he had his key points laid out, so we worked towards organizing his information to fit a more formal and scientific style. Moving forward, his goal is to complete the data/experiments portion of his project throughout the week. By doing so, we will be able to complete the analysis and conclusion portion of his project by our Friday session."
"We went over a lab she got back that she got a 75/100 on, the lab was on ecology. We discussed why she was marked down and how she can be more specific with her written responses. We continued reviewing cellular respiration and did practice problems from my study materials. There are parts of this that are still confusing her, so I'm going to find different worksheets or videos to show her next time. Then we reviewed DNA for her test on Friday, which she seems to understand."
"The student and I reviewed his biology homework for the whole session. During this time, we reviewed three full packets: two pertaining to transcription/translation of DNA and RNA, and the other one related to a lab that he just conducted. This was a very productive session. As always, I look forward to meeting with him again."
"We reviewed the Maxwell-Betti Theorem in a statically indeterminate beam with distributed and a point loaded with unequal spans, support settlement problem, non linear cross section support with spring supports. We then reviewed SAP 2000 coding of the beam problem."
"We reviewed the student's second exam, which she did much better in. She is doing well in calculating bond energy. She had a positive attitude. We will begin preparing for the next exam next week. We finished by working on homework problems. I want to begin prepping her for her next exam next week."
"We reviewed the test from this week, and corrected the problems on which mistakes were made. We also discussed the concepts that will be coming up in this week's classes. We started to talk about kinetics and rates of reactions."
