We did a couple homework problems on variable work and then another using a combination of variable and constant work. I explained why we have to take the area of the curve to find the variable work. I also helped the student see a correlation between work and potential and kinetic energy. I expanded on one of her homework problems to show this by finding the velocity after finding the work done. I also briefly introduced vector addition and multiplication, power, and force, all in terms of work.

The student should look over his problems a few times to get used to the method, making sure to remember to label all the forces on the diagrams and avoid sign errors in the equations, especially when multiple objects have the same magnitude acceleration.
