Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The topics covered were the following: solving one-step equations, simplifying expressions, and solving word problems. The student understands the material, but he needs to remember to check his work for minor errors. The student received a 91% on his last assessment."
"This afternoon, we reviewed for the student's chapter test. She told me that she was having the most trouble with equations containing fractions, so we spent most of our time on that objective. She requested that I send her extra practice problems to work in a study hall before math class. I emailed those to her with the answers."
"This session covered probability and its applications. We went over the student's homework set during the session. For homework, I asked her to review material from the assessment exam packet and identify her most troublesome areas."
"This session covered quadratic factoring and the zero product property. The student did extremely well demonstrating the process that he learned during our last session and was cruising through the extra credit problems that we were working from. At the end of the lesson, we discussed the process again and the importance of an intermediate step to check the work. The student has an exam Tuesday, so we plan to meet online tomorrow for review."
"This session focused on additional review of partial fractions, with an emphasis on integrating exponential and logarithmic functions. The student has a good command of the general subject matter but can use more practice with integrating exponential and logarithmic functions. We will work more on this next week."
"This session focused on reviewing division. We practiced long division problems with both double- and triple-digit divisors. After reviewing the rules of divisibility, we began to apply those skills in the context of an actual problem. This was new territory for the student, as he has not yet learned it formally in school. With guidance and modeling, he proved ready for the challenge, successfully solving each problem."
