Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We had one last session before the student's test on Sunday. We only went over a few hard problems and I gave her some last minute test taking advice."
"This was the final session for this student and me. For this last test, I had asked her to not skip any math questions, to answer even on the ones that she didn't fully understand. The result was a marginally higher grade than her last few exams, which, when coupled with her outstanding critical reading and writing scores, placed her easily into the 2000's, possibly as high as a low 2200. During our review of the material, there was a single question of vocabulary, and two or three questions about tense, but an overall excellent presentation. We spent the final part of the visit discussing the structure and methodology of the essay; I went over the grading rubric and example essays in the prep book, and we discussed a general approach for outlining and constructing an essay for the prompt. From my discussions with the student, her performance on the writing and critical reading sections, her academic grades and the 4 she got on the AP English language exam, I have no doubt that she will be able to write at least a 4 on her essay; a 5 or a six with her multiple choice could give her an 800 with ease. It has been an absolute pleasure working with her and watching her progress, helping her talent grow."
"This session was focused on mean, median and mode. We did a practice test (math section) and various problems from the book."
