Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For this session, we went over the student's previous lab report that she had done on water density. Her teacher had graded it and given it back to her so that she could fix it for full credit. All of the parts that needed changing were very minor and so it was easily fixed and gave the student some insight into exactly what her teacher will be looking for in future lab reports. After finishing the lab report, we finished her nuclear power outline and I left the student with homework to do before our session next week. Before we meet, she is supposed to go through and find all of her sources for her outline and put them together in an APA formatted works cited page."
"The student and I met on Sunday morning to continue reviewing his biology work. We began by reviewing the concepts we talked about last week. He seemed to remember what we had discussed and was able to think critically when asked hypothetical questions. We then continued to work on the current lessons. The student needs to work on critical thinking and taking his time answering questions. Between last week and this week, I can see that he is making progress and this is encouraging."
"We covered evolution. The student was struggling with types of natural selection (directional, disruptive, etc.) and what types of questions could appear on the exam. The student appeared very interested and engaged by the material. We talked about how to study for the exam. Extra practice was to go over her notes again. No new scores yet, waiting on test corrections."
