Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed logs, angle relationships and combinations. Then the student completed and we went over a critical reading section of a practice test."
"We reviewed strategies for solving probability problems and worked various problems from her prep book together - rate, counting, trigonometry, and even/odd functions."
"For the first part of the session, we went over a couple of sections that the student did throughout the week (one math section and an essay). For the math section, we discussed how she really needed to be careful with timing (approximately 1 minute per question, then check back). Because this was her last week, we talked again about strategies for the different sections (skip over questions you don't know and come back if you have time, don't omit any student produced response questions, look for keywords in the critical reading sections, be very clear in your essay, etc...). She is very knowledgeable about worldly things, but that can get her into trouble on the essay because she can get carried away and not write to the prompt. We went through 5 essay prompts together where she told me some examples she would use and how to apply them (specific examples that can be applied to general things). We talked about being very clear in the essay and always thinking about: Am I addressing the question? By the last prompt, she seemed much more comfortable. For the remainder of the time, we went through all of the math practice sections."
