We started this session reviewing the assignments I had given for her to complete on her own. As before, the student's verbal scoring was lowest. However, she did as I had asked and had reviewed every word she did not understand so that it could be added to her vocabulary. For reading, we tested her on the different types of questions. She was given three minutes to read each passage and answer a series of questions based on either the main idea, details, or vocabulary. It was clear after this that she needs to focus on answering the main idea of each passage - she even verbalized that this was her main concern with the reading portion of the exam. Next was a mathematics review, which she did very well with. We spent the second half of the session reviewing new vocabulary terms (including stems). I have asked her to complete 2 verbal analogy sections on her own and as before, look up the words she was unfamiliar with.
