Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student's test date is approaching and he is feeling confident. He continues to study on his own and is doing a great job getting through the material. We spent a good chunk of time working on math problems today. He had some difficulties with the section on estimates so we spent a lot of time going over the rules, and he seems more comfortable now."
"We continued with problems on the discrete distributions, and then moved on to two continuous distributions (uniform and Gaussian). I emphasized the geometric relations between the distribution curves and the probabilities being calculated."
"Today we reviewed the student's past quiz on stoichiometry and highlighted common problems involving mole ratios. Then we moved on to solving for chemical reactions that have limiting reactants. To do this we filled on ICE charts and discussed how mole ratio plays a key role in each step of the chart. Lastly, we went over a few problems involving logarithms for math."
"The student and I went over Module 10 on acids and bases. We stayed longer in order to finish the whole chapter and for him to take the unit assessment. He was able to identify acids vs bases, monoprotic vs. diprotic vs. polyprotic, complete dilution problems, and analyze titration problems."
"Completed a few assignments from Geometry course. The topic covered was solving triangles using the Pythagorean Theorem and Trigonometry. Will continue to do more to get him caught up and complete the course by May. Will continue also to work on basic Algebra skills and prepare him for Algebra 2 in the Fall."
"The student and I covered a few problem solving questions from his homework and several Sentence Correction questions. He felt that he had issues with the SC, so we took our time going over the questions. We then covered verb tense and parallelism. I assigned SC III and Quant 5 for homework. Next session, we will move on to pronoun issues."
