"The concepts we covered were graphing horizontal & vertical translations of sinusoidal functions, modeling data using a sinusoidal function, properties of the tangent function, graphing horizontal dilations of the tangent function, graphing reflections and translations of the tangent function, properties of the cotangent function, and graphing the cotangent function."
"The student and I continued preparations for her upcoming final by going over previous quizzes. The material we covered included polynomial functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions. She needed help when it came to factoring and using it to solve for intercepts, and she was able to catch on quickly, and didn't need further assistance after mastering said techniques. She also needed help when it came to converting between exponential to logarithmic form. Once she was reminded of these conversions and formulas, she was able to feel more comfortable with all the material covered. We ended the session covering study guide questions."
"The student and I continued to go through her assessments and do practice problems from each section in order to study for her final. The biggest thing we went over was completing the square, although that didn't take much time because the student was still pretty solid on it. I expect her to do well on her final."
"The student and I continued working on integrals today, this time finding left and right rectangular estimates based on given data tables. Once again, her confusion vanished pretty quickly once I helped her focus on what the questions were asking."
"The student and I continued working through trig problems. We used trig to solve for coordinates; related sin, cos, and tan; and worked with identities. I had him sketch everything out so he could see the relationship between the quantities - this seemed to help a lot."
"The student and I covered conic sections. We went over how to determine what kind of conic section based on the expanded equation, and then we worked through the expanded forms to put them in standard form and find out their attributes. Everything went well, and today served as a review session to finish out the unit on conic sections."
