Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The girls continue to do wonderfully! Student 1 is going first, which I think will help her stay more engaged for longer. Student 2 has started the second (harder) math packet and rose to the challenge!"
"The student and I began with basic math facts (multiplication 1-12, subtraction 1-12, addition 1-12, and division 1-12) for 1 minute each as a warm up. The rest of the session was used as test preparation for an upcoming math test on Thursday. The test focuses on linear equations and rate of change. He spent the tutoring session working through problems as well as practicing testing strategies, such as writing out every step prior to completing a problem, in order to become more prepared for the test this week."
"The student and I covered math. She worked on two homework assignments on ratios, and then we made test corrections and reviewed some multiplication facts. Her attitude is increasingly positive. Strategies I mentioned included repetition and problem practice. I left her with multiplication facts to practice and memorize."
"The student and I covered properties of addition as well as distribution when an equation involves a variable. I went over a few examples, and then I had him do multiple problems. By the end of our session, he was able to successfully complete the problems. He seemed to understand the concepts well."
"The student and I covered the concept of multiplication with three-digit numbers. She needed help with the placement of numbers in the rectangle, and both multiplication and addition facts, so we went over those in detail."
"The student and I did the basics again, going over math, reading, and handwriting. He is studying for a science test this Thursday. He's getting everything memorized very well, plus he understands practically how to use examples to define what he's talking about. He's doing great. He read a big book today with ease. He's getting much more confident in his reading ability."
