Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered differentiation of the natural logarithm function and its inverse, and the natural exponential function e^x using the chain rule, along with other techniques. We also covered implicit differentiation, and briefly worked on curve sketching using calculus."
"The student and I covered first and second derivative tests, finding limits using graphs, finding integrals using graphs, and approximating area using Riemann sums. Our goal for our next session is to cover related rates problems."
"The student and I covered material in preparation for an upcoming exam. This included sketching graphs for transformations of functions, using linear functions for approximation, and optimization using derivatives."
"The student and I covered most of his trouble spots on exam 1, which he seemed to grasp quickly after I explained them. I trust he is doing his work on his own, and therefore I don't give him much homework. If he is working and reworking the problems or other ones like them, then I believe he is going to be in good shape after our review of exam 2 on Friday."
"The student and I covered mostly integration and differentiation in this session. There were many integrals that required a multitude of techniques to compute. I could tell she was a little overwhelmed by all the different rules governing integration, but I believe she will be fine with additional practice. We skipped over some of the more complex examples in the interest of time, but I could tell she was steadily improving in terms of competency."
"The student and I covered precalculus = probability. He was having trouble understanding the basic concepts, so I was able to help him, even though I did not use the same methodology. He has raised his physics grade. He seems smart enough and eager enough to learn."
