Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I started to review his close-reading sticky notes, but will need to do it during our next session. We completed the reading of "Vote for SpongeBob" and documented his reading homework on his log. I got out the books I brought for the student, two on his grade level for reading, and two that were a level below. He read the lower level non-fiction book "George Washington" well, only stumbling with vocabulary occasionally. The student and I discussed what each color meant on the spine of the book, and how we would continue to practice both types to build success. We attempted some handwriting practice, but will continue during our next session. I then discussed our progress, and upcoming work with his parents, and gave them some handwriting tools and pages to practice. He is making great progress in his comprehension and focus, and I look forward to seeing his momentum continue!"
"We went over the student's literary journal. He had 3 response questions he needed to answer. I encouraged him to include details and explanations in his writing."
"The student read from his book about pilgrims. While he was more accurate he read a lot more slowly today. He then worked on a crossword puzzle using the book to find answers."
