Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student's cumulative exam is this Wednesday. We reviewed triangle congruence and past exams including logic and coordinate geometry proofs."
"We covered some basic geometric principles and some algebra. I did not see any grades. I did leave some extra problems that were similar to the ones we did."
"The student and I quickly reviewed for an upcoming quiz over surface area of 3D shapes. We worked through his review sheet and some additional problems."
"We reviewed for tomorrow's test, which will be on linear equations and equations of the circle, as well as graphs of the same. The student has the linear equations and their related equations (finding the slope, finding the midpoint, solving for the intercept) down. He had a bit more difficulty with understanding the algorithm for completing the square as applied to equations of the circle and needed that review and practice the most. We practiced with sample problems from worksheets off of the Internet, and now he feels a lot better about going into the test."
"This went great! The student is getting into some very interesting material. We did work regarding trapezoids and parallelograms and rhombuses and kites. He is very good at intuitively knowing what a shape is or what properties they have just based on common sense, but has more trouble explaining his reasoning or backing up his intuitive understanding with actual proof. So we talked about the properties of these shapes and how to go about specifically proving something is or isn't true."
"It was mostly about quadrilaterals and triangles. I went over some basics with the student and then once a similar question came up, she was very good at remembering the info. She is a hard worker and easy to teach. I heard a lot of "Okay, I get what that comes from," while in the session. I felt that she was progressing very well and feel that she now knows more than before the lesson."
