Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We specifically covered polar coordinates (conversion from rectangular to polar, and visual representation of polar coordinates), and reviewed previous problems from the past few sessions. The student did not struggle much with tonight's review material."
"We spent most of our time going over graphical analysis, specifically parabolas. We looked at behavior when altering the directrix, focus, and vertex. We also looked at other conic sections, such as the ellipse and the hyperbola."
"We spent our last session reviewing the logarithmic and exponential equations on the student's study guide. His final exam is tomorrow, and he has demonstrated a large improvement over where he was at the beginning of the semester."
"We spent the first half of the session breaking ground on a literature project. She had a general idea of what she wanted to discuss in her paper, but didn't know what direction to take the topic. I showed her to first gather research and let that guide her into a motif for her paper. We gathered research, and with it, we were able to create a basic outline. We spent the other half working on precal. We covered functions and their inverses. She had no problem understanding the math, but simply forgot the formulas and identities that came with the unit. I made a cheat sheet, giving her everything she needed to get through problems. We ended the session going over a quiz she previously took."
"We spent the first half of the session reviewing the student's writing assignment on Newton's Law of Cooling. We then began a review of his homework online. We discussed some good ways to study and plan to meet again on Sunday."
"We spent this session working on the student's pre-calc homework. The two sections we worked on dealt with the law of cosines, the law of sines, and the Pythagorean theorem to solve triangles. She did very well."
