Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We are still working on momentum and impulse. This time we focused most of our time on inelastic collisions and collisions in two dimensions."
"We went over problems involving force and Newton's laws. By the end of the session, she was able to solve the problems correctly."
"During this session we reviewed exams 1, 2, and 3 in preparation for the student's final exam. We focused on important concepts and I stressed having the reagents and mechanisms from exam 3 memorized."
"This was the first tutoring session with the student covering cell biology. We mainly started off by reviewing the latest lecture she covered in class. The lecture covered structure and function of proteins. We also reviewed some of the questions that were assigned to her online. They mainly covered amino acid sequences. She had a good background understanding of the subject content, but she needed some help with some detailed aspects of it, as well as understanding the terminology. We will have another follow-up session in a few days to review the material discussed today and make sure she has a better understanding."
"Today the student and I continued to go over practice study guide questions. She also created her own chart summarizing the anemiae. I feel that she is doing much better now, is feeling less overwhelmed and really understanding the concepts much better. She is also thinking more critically about the questions. We reviewed some questions as well. For homework I recommended that she continue with the disease chart, and also to take another online practice test so we can gauge her progress."
"Today the student and I covered Lewis structures and electronegativity. She picked up the material quickly and was doing well on the problems for the first day. I left her with problems to practice. We will continue to practice Lewis structures as well as resonance and exceptions to the octet rule on Friday."
