Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed the binomial theory. He came to understand the use and idea of the binomial theory over time, but once he understood the idea, he was able to solve a number of problems on his own."
"Covered practice test questions for the upcoming state assessment. Also covered topics on Nuclear Chemistry."
"The student has shown good progress in computing angles in both degrees and radians, and representing angles in standard position. This week, we moved onto calculating trig functions of any angle using the unit circle. He was a little rusty at using what he knows about right triangle trigonometry, so we had to review some of those fundamentals. We got through a few examples of angles on the unit circle, and I left him with some practice problems to complete."
"The student was learning names for angles (right, obtuse, acute) and triangles (right, isosceles, scalene) in school, so we worked on this first. During the second half of the session, we reviewed estimation strategies and place values. As always, he was attentive and cooperative."
"We continued with solving logarithmic equations. The steps are to convert to one log on one side, take antilog, solve algebraically, and check for extraneous roots. The student seems to understand somewhat, but needs more practice. We will continue to work on this."
"We covered proportions and probability, which seems to be a rather confusing subject. However, this student is a very smart kid, and was able to do the work very well."
