## Session Summaries by Math Tutors

The student and I worked through his unit 6 and unit 7 practices, and we also reviewed his unit 6 test which he got a 92 on.
The student did well on her first probability quiz (16/20). We reviewed the problems she got wrong first then focused on using decision trees to calculate probabilities for multiple events.
The session began with the student and I reviewing some math work for school. He had to answer various three step word problems. He had a challenging time independently solving the word problems, so I showed him how to break apart each question by identifying the information given, the question asked, and the sequence of steps that he would have to take in order to correctly solve the problem. We also worked on place value and the meaning of each digit when compared to the other digits in the same number. Before the end of the session, he practiced answering short response questions where he had to explain his thinking and the steps he followed. Extra math worksheets were left for him to complete.
We covered Taylor series and polynomials extensively, and looked at the remainder or error term (LaGrange error).
We prepared for the student's quiz coming up tomorrow. We covered antiderivatives, indefinite integrals, definite integrals, summation, Riemann sum, and the limit definition of an integral.
The student worked on homework problems involving the multiplication of positive and negative decimals. We also reviewed vocabulary words.
