Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had some questions about her trig test. I think there was a small breakthrough, and she understood the material after going over the test. She also had a couple questions in physics about electric fields that I helped her with."
"Went over studying techniques and graphing rational functions with asymptotes. Assigned some problems and videos online."
"We went over the law of sines, the law of cosines, and finding the area of a triangle. By the end of the session, the student demonstrated she understood the material by solving the problems correctly."
"Concepts: - Limits - Parametric Equations - Logarithms - Simplifying Rational Expressions - Graphing Polynomial Functions - Sequences & Series - Summation Notation - Piecewise Functions The student began studying in preparation for her Midterm Exam."
"Today I had the pleasure of meeting the student and his Dad. Both are wonderful people that are proactively taking steps to ensure he improves in his pre-calc class. The student and I discussed his academic background, what areas he has trouble with and how we can make a plan of attack for improvement. Specifically we discussed organization and time management strategies from his binder to his note taking. We also discussed the importance of completing 25-40 math problems each night to better prepare himself for his assessments. We also worked on identifying sequences and previewed the arithmetic formula he will be learning in class this week. We are scheduled to meet again this Friday and next Monday and will set up a formal schedule once he receives his calendar of tests from his teacher this week. I look forward to working with him and seeing his improvement."
"In the session today, we went over various trig identities and solving trig equations. The student seems to have a very strong algebra base, but was struggling with the various substitutions needed to solve the equations. The session was spent going over his study guide, as he has a test tomorrow. Towards the end of the session he was able to recognize the proper substitutions that were needed and seemed more comfortable with the information."
