Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed a calorimetry lab. The physics aspects of the chapter were discussed in length since the student seemed confused."
"We covered Chapter 5 in Fundamentals of Aerodynamics. We discussed drag and lift. We will work on viscous flow next time."
"We covered projectile motion and force of gravity between two masses. The majority of the session was spent on understanding basic concepts and a few problems were completed to solidify the material."
"We went over some review problems covering topics the student was not comfortable with. The problems involved force analysis, including rotation and torque (ladder problem), buoyancy, and simple harmonic motion. I covered the topics in more generality than was needed so that she would feel more confident with slightly different problems. We used the three-step method for analyzing forces and torques, and we derived the formulas for simple harmonic motion. She was able to follow along easily, and we will meet again tomorrow before her test to cover some more topics."
"We went over stoichiometry and mole ratios. The student looks much more confident in this unit compared to previous units. He just needs to practice more. We are planning on meeting on Wednesday to review for his upcoming unit test."
"We went over the anatomy and physiology of the renal system and the physiology of cellular respiration. The student did not have any specific problems; she just wanted further explanation on complex processes as well as study tips as to what her focus should be on. I extensively went through each section of the nephron with her, explaining the anatomy, action, and hormones involved. I included images from textbooks and my own drawings to help facilitate the lesson. She explained to me that she did very well on her previous tests I helped her study for. This final that she has coming up is going to cover a massive amount of material that she needs to prepare for."
