Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we went over some old homework that the student wanted to review. We covered the topic of the Ideal gas law and completed some practice problems that the student provided. The student did very well, and only needed assistance for the trickier problems."
"I guided the student through two practice problems of finding the domain, range, intercepts, and asymptotes of a function, and then graphing the function. Afterwards we moved on to a physics lab and quiz with velocity vs. time concepts, which she was fine with. A quiz she took earned her 100% with no input from me."
"We went over the student's algebra homework which was factoring quadratics. He seemed to understand it. We went over a few of the problems and are meeting later tonight to go over his homework after he finishes it."
"We worked on reviewing her oxidation-reduction homework packet. She needed some help with balancing half reactions, mostly determining oxidation states and overall charge. She quickly picked up on solving galvanic cell and electrochem problems."
"I helped the student understand the writing of nuclear reactions. I also helped him review his nuclear reaction presentation, giving him guidance and tips on how to organize his PowerPoint presentations. Lastly, I helped him review for an upcoming quiz by going over partial pressure of gasses. Great session!"
"Today, we went over the student's lab report, looking at synthesis of cyclohexene from acid-catalyzed dehydration of cyclohexanol via E1 mechanism. We talked about what to put in the introduction and discussed the results obtained. We will continue our session finishing up the lab report this weekend. Great job!"
