Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed thermochemistry. We began by reviewing the general concepts for the subject and did several problems with calorimetry. He is developing a strong grasp of the subject."
"We discussed the portion of her physics test she took that day and prepared for the concepts portion on Friday."
"The student and I looked into reviewing cell signaling and ligand receptor interactions. I highly suggest she begin looking over previous material and prepare for her upcoming finals."
"We discussed Newtonian mechanics to review for a midterm. Specifically, we reviewed relationships between position, velocity and acceleration through derivatives and antiderivatives, position (as well as velocity and acceleration) as a vector valued function of time, and modeling problems using piecewise defined functions."
"We discussed osteogenesis and bone anatomy. With all new subjects the start is a bit rough, feeling out where the student is at, but then we made some great headway on bone-formation and the conceptual framework."
"We discussed periodic table trends mainly about electronegativities and what the difference means, Ionic vs. Covalent bonds, ionic and covalent character, bond enthalpies and Lewis Dot Structures, and Exothermic vs. Endothermic reactions. A little bit of review, but lots of information for sure. The student is doing better at thinking through chemistry problems, but there is so much new information week to week. He was behind, but I feel like he is learning quick. Day before fall break, and he stayed up all night doing homework so he was tired. He has plenty of homework that he can practice on from his online homework, and he said he would go through that again. If he does he will improve so much by the end of fall break."
