Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered Lewis dot structures, resonance, and molecular geometry. Next session we will review molecular geometry."
"During this session we went over the periodic table, quantum numbers, and nuclear chemistry. We also looked at a couple of questions the student brought in. Overall, this session went well."
"This session was great. The student is making progress with chemistry and student two continues to excel in more advanced topics. Student two and I began some physics concepts as well."
"The student and I worked on the second part of the state assessment, which is the long answer section. He seemed to be okay with it. He has a good understanding of chemistry, and just needs to slow down and read questions thoroughly. I believe he can definitely have success on the exam as long as he focuses and works hard. This was our last session, and he has grown so much since the beginning, and I am glad that he was able to have continued success as the semester went along."
"The student and I worked through a review of his take-home chemistry final exam. The exam included topics ranging from beginning chemistry all the way through the end of the semester. We touched on topics such as balancing equations, acid-base reactions and neutralization, oxidation numbers, oxidation reduction reactions, ionic and covalent compounds, structures of compounds, characteristics of periods and groups, properties of elements, trends in electronegativity/electron affinity/etc., and other principles."
"The student and I worked through several chapter 12 book problems related to Henry's law, density, percent by mass, parts per billion, molarity, molality, vapor pressure, and Raoult's law. We discussed strategies for making the right assumptions to start solving the problem, then knowing when to use molarity/ molality/ density/ molar mass/ volume/ mass/ moles based on key information given in the problem."
