Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed material for the test on Thursday including ionic compounds, differences between ionic and covalent bonds, polar bonds, and molecular geometry."
"Today we reviewed VSEPR models, electronegativity, and hybrid orbitals in preparation for the student's test on Wednesday. We also reviewed Lewis structures."
"We reviewed topics that she will be reseeds on, on Monday. We had a great time during our session. She is motivated, bright and will be a pleasure to tutor during future sessions."
"We discussed periodic trends, but she struggled most with reiterating the explanation for those trends. She was very focused and absorbed the content well. It took practice, but she didn't shy away from learning all the new terms and applying them appropriately. We went over some homework problems she had, and I emailed her additional practice problems. If I had to assign a grade to her performance that night, I'd give her an 85. She definitely knows the material but hesitates in her answers. I think she definitely progressed immensely within the session. She and I both jotted down notes, worked problems together, and by the end, she was mostly tackling the questions herself as I checked. She's a fast learner!!!"
"We discussed position versus time and velocity versus time graphs both qualitatively and quantitatively. She struggled with identifying the patterns that could be drawn for either type of graph and applying the patterns to draw new graphs. By the end of the session she was drawing her own conclusions and her own graphs!"
"We discussed RNA Structure, synthesis, and processing. He maintained a positive attitude and has review questions at the end of lecture to guide him as re-studies the material. His first exam is next week."
