Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I reviewed motion in two dimensions. We reviewed the sections in the relevant chapters dealing with calculating velocities in the x and y directions. We also began talking about forces in both directions. However, the student's test on Monday will be on the former."
"Today the student and I started a new French chapter. Her exam was yesterday so our session today was more light and designed to help her get a head start on the other students. We learned some vocabulary, discussed memorization methods, and we did an exercise involving the vocabulary. She learned the vocabulary quickly and effectively and I learned that she progresses better when we make side comments about words, like how ridiculous they are, or tricks to remember them."
"We first went over the student's homework. Then we did a lesson on telling the day of the week and month of the year in Chinese, and then a lesson on weather, going through exercises and translations for each topic. We also tried to converse in Chinese a little bit."
"The student and I began working through one of his practice books. We reviewed the quantitative reasoning section instructions and worked on examples for the duration of the session. He worked hard and stayed on task. We plan to meet again on Tuesday."
"The student and I continued to work with the 6 trig functions today. Specifically, we worked on using the trig identities to prove that mathematical statements are true. She did a great job using the trig function form of the Pythagorean Theorem!"
"We covered present tense conjugation with verbs and nouns from vocabulary related to school, sports, and hobbies."
