"Exam preparation: histograms, percentiles, means, medians, standard deviations, regression lines, slopes, intercepts, estimates of error, normal distributions, standardization, percentiles of standard normal."
"Met up with the student and did some reading from "Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing." I insisted that he finish up reading a certain amount of pages before I left, and afterwards he was surprised (and happy) that he was able to read them all so quickly."
"Student 1: Went over concepts of rate, time, and distance in depth. Practiced all the possible variations of these sorts of problems. Student 2: Practiced with basic Algebra calculations, putting word problems into mathematical equations and solving for like terms."
"The student and I continued working on math yesterday, finishing up the section of the book about arithmetic with fractions--only a tiny portion of the math! There's a lot to cover, but she won't need to know all of it since it covers math topics up through the upper levels of the test. We also got started on the verbal section, doing some practice with sentence completion questions. There are not as many topics in the verbal parts, but it's good to practice all of them as much as we can."
"The student and I met for the first time. I had her complete a small section from the reading, math, and writing sections to see how she was performing. We also reviewed the answers to some questions that she did on her own."
"We covered material that will be on the final exam. The student should remember to put Woran/Wofuer questions at the beginning of the sentence. I also advised him to practice reflexive verbs."
