"The student has a geometry test on Thursday on chapter 10. He's always very good at geometry while we're doing it, but he can forget things from the beginning of a unit. We put together a cheat sheet with every single equation from the chapter. It is a chapter on circles, chords, secants, tangents, and their lengths and angles. After we made the cheat sheet, he absolutely flew through the chapter review sheet given to his class by his teacher."
"We studied for the student's upcoming quiz over circles, sectors, segments, and areas. He understood most of the formulas already, and I helped him with the ratios related sector lengths to circle circumference. We went through his study guide and worksheets, and after several practice problems, he seemed to grasp the material very well. He had one more worksheet to finish after I left. I expect him to do very well on his quiz."
"As requested, the student had gathered all of his notes and other work for his class. We organized his notebook so that he can better find things when he has notebook quizzes. We also worked on his homework for tomorrow and studied for a quiz. He had most trouble with working problems backwards (given area, find radius as opposed to given radius, find area) but was more comfortable with those types of problems by the end of the session."
"The student has a retake test coming up so we just reviewed for that. The test is on parabolas, the standard and vertex form, finding the vertex, the intercepts, the axis of symmetry, the intervals of increase and decrease, the end behavior, the domain, and the range. We went over graphing parabolas and what the discriminant means and visually how to see it. Finally, we went over applications of the parabolas in a physics trajectory problem."
"Today's session went well. We discussed parallelograms in great detail. We defined the criteria that need to be meet in order to be a parallelogram. In addition, we worked with multiple worksheets and practice problems. We also discussed how to determine appropriate angle based on the number of sides of the shape."
"In this session we covered a worksheet about navigation problems. For the most part, the student seems to understand the algebra required to do these problems. The key to solving these problems is to drawing the correct sketch, therefore that is what I recommend the student to do."
