Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Met with the student and went over problems involving radicals (square roots, cube roots, etc.). The problems required simplifying expressions such as (sqrt(81*x^5*y^3)) and this led to a discussion of how exponents work, how to remove a perfect square from a square root, etc. He seemed to understand the concepts well by the end of the meeting."
"We spent the majority of our time on the math sections. I selected several problems which were challenges for her (exponents, new symbols, etc). She did pretty well there; she also did well on the bit of critical reading we did. She asked about the essay section of the test, I plan to work with her on that at our next meeting. Also, she did say that she was doing vocab work in her SAT class."
"The student and I did a writing section from an SAT practice test and reviewed the incorrect answers. We did another writing section, and I showed him out loud my thinking process and strategies for answering every question. This was more helpful for him than just doing the section and reviewing each answer. After, we did a math section."
