Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For our next session, I think it would greatly benefit her to go over chapters 1,2, and 4 at a quicker pace than when we covered her chapter 6 (Radicals) test. I want to focus on graphical solutions in addition to the algebraic ones to introduce a more natural or organic way of thinking about these topics."
"We worked on simplifying polynomials when adding and multiplying. He had a very good understanding of the material."
"Great first session! The student has the tools to be able to figure out the answers but she needs to work on memorizing the multiplication tables."
"We covered section 12-7: Experimental and Theoretical Probabilities. The student learned how to identify the sample space, an event, an outcome. She learned also how to calculate the theoretical probability of an event with some examples. The student also learned how to find the complement probability, and the odds in favor or against an event. We solved most of the section problems as a practice."
"Our lesson started with a times tables test. She had a bit of trouble with the structure of the multiplication problems, but we were able to practice a lot. At the end of our lesson I also introduced a game that not only helped her to practice multiplication problems, but also the concepts involved. She enjoyed it and was motivated by the times tests. By the end of the session, I definitely felt like we had made progress and that she understands multiplication much better now. We might tackle division next time."
"The student completed her homework problem, as well as went over a few foundational topics. The homework problem involved solving an equation for x. We went over how to factor a polynomial if the x^2 coefficient is not 1. We made a lot of progress today because we were able to go over balancing equations and adding negatives and positives."
