Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the student's Geometry material today. We covered supplementary & complementary angles, area of composite figures, and the rest of his 1.5-1.8 homework. We also prepared for his upcoming lab in Chemistry, which will focus on using basic lab equipment and finding the percent error of measurements. He was prepared and focused for today's session."
"We covered the student's outline some more, working on how to shape an argument. He did pretty well with it. I walked him through each part again. I tried to show him when something wasn't helpful, then tried to lead him to a better option with leading questions."
"We covered the topics of supplementary and complementary angles, which involved algebraic substitution. In addition, we also went over how to solve problems that involve the use of two variables and two equations. The properties of angles involving parallel lines were also reviewed today, as it was explained that opposite angles would always be equal according the principles of geometry. Overall, the session was productive, as we went through many new concepts, definitions, and advanced problems as well, which she was able to solve towards the end of the session."
"We covered two assignments today that focused on proving shapes by using logic and the coordinate plane. One of them was about determining the type of triangle from points and using the distance equation. We also worked on using slope methods to determine if a shape was a rectangle or a parallelogram."
"We covered various transformations on a coordinate plane. We worked on various problems covering each type and a few covering combinations of transformations. Also, we completed a review for the previous five chapters. The student seemed to recall and retain the information well."
"We did a review of algebra today. We covered equations, simplifying square roots, adding and subtracting square roots, multiplying square roots, and dividing square roots. I left the student to do worksheets covering those for the next time we meet."
