Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We looked over chapter 1 and the beginning of chapter 2 to clear up any points he was not sure about."
"Today we worked on circular motion problems and a bit of angular frequency incorporated into it. We worked through problems the student's teacher gave her as well as problems I came up with myself. She handled them very well and we began gravitation at the end of the session."
"The student and I covered topics such as percent composition, empirical formulas, molecular formula, stoichiometry, finding empirical formulas from quantities given or from a composition breakdown of elements, limiting reactant, excess reactant, theoretical yield, and transition metals and naming compounds. The student came prepared and she did great!"
"The student and I met to review for his test on nuclear chemistry and redox. We reviewed a homework set on redox (oxidation number, identifying the oxidized and reduced species, oxidizing and reducing agents) and worked on exam review (more redox problems, reviewing nuclear chemistry, especially the band of stability and half life problems). The student is showing positive growth in his confidence and problem-solving skills and has a great grasp of redox and half life. I advised him to review the other aspects of nuclear chemistry before the exam. After this exam, I plan to circle back and do more electron configuration practice with him."
"The student and I reviewed the entirety of his chemistry final exam review. I supplied multiple packets to assist him in his reviewing after our session. We also logged in a late night session from 10:15-10:35 to answer last-minute questions he had regarding some of the formulas. It's been a long semester, and It's been my absolute pleasure to work with him during this time. I trust he'll knock it out of the park."
"Tonight we covered antihypertensive medications, in which we discussed the mechanisms of action, indications, contraindications and most testable adverse effects. The concepts of hypertension and hypotension were discussed at the physiological level. Some pathology was covered as well. The student passed his most recent exam outright since beginning tutoring."
