Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued working with grocery ads today. I used the images for vocabulary practice and we then had a number of mock conversations in Spanish about where things are located and how much they cost. I brought the student a page of numbers and we worked through the pronunciation. With continuous practice using the ads he improved during the hour and half greatly with his numbers in Spanish."
"The student is taking the Algebra 2 & Trig tests on Tuesday. Today we went over formulas that she should know for the exam. We practiced factoring, finding the roots of an equation, and FOIL. We worked on a practice exam. We discussed strategies for the multiple choice, and how to use the calculator to plug in the answer choices for problems. At the end of the session, she said she felt more comfortable with the exam material."
"The student and I reviewed congruent triangles and finished her geometry homework. I briefly explained what she would be learning in geometry this week: SSS, SAS, SSA, ASA, and AAS. We went over her chemistry homework on percent composition and I explained to her how come up with the molecular formula for polyatomic atoms."
"The student did very well on the science and math sections, so we are going to focus primarily on the reading. We practiced time management techniques for the reading section."
"We met to do her review for chapters 4 and 15 for her test tomorrow. These chapters are on linear regression lines and the stats associated with them. She was a little unclear about doing the transformations before making the regression line, but once we talked through this and worked a few problems, she understood much better. She did very well on all of the problems that she worked."
"We reviewed the student's homework. We spent the entire session reviewing the questions. She seemed to know the right answer immediately. She is moving along very well. We also spoke about her presentation. All in all, she did great and seemed very informed."
