In this session, we went over the principles of design and elements of design. We also went over dimensions and dimension symbols. The student understood the principles of design as well as design elements. There were some dimension symbols she did not remember, so I tried to create a visual representation of the symbols in order to help her remember the meaning. This was our last session before her exam, and she feels she is ready for her exam.

We went over a worksheet given that has questions similar to questions that will appear on the student's final. All the questions were concept-based, and there was very little math involved. She was able to understand the material with some explanation, and was often able to find the answer herself by simply thinking out loud.

Tonight, I had the student work through the biology exam review material in a different form by using a worksheet that presented the information in new ways. We talked through organelles, prokaryotes, and eukaryotes, and spent a while learning the differences between chloroplasts and mitochondria, as well as photosynthesis and respiration. When he felt comfortable with the biology material, we flipped through English flashcards some, and wrapped up with a final review of the key biology concepts. He says he feels good about the test and that he's well prepared.
