Today, we went over problems from the student's test review sheet for geometry. She did well with all of the material, and she mostly needed help setting a problem up and figuring out how to apply what she knows. She should be able to effectively study on her own by completing the rest of her review packet.

Today, we worked on transformations of congruent shapes. We focused mostly on rotations and combining multiple transformations in single problems. The student did really well; rotations are the most confusing of the transformations and it will take her some practice to get more comfortable with the concept, but overall, she had a good understanding. We then focused on his current Geometry lesson, leading him through the results of a perpendicular bisector inside of a triangle problem. We were also able to preview some upcoming content in Geometry. We discussed his weekend plans for getting his other assignments done and talked about strategies for getting through longer reading assignments, particularly covers. He continues to be very pleasant and easy to work with.

Tonight, we covered the student's Chapter 3 test review. She had a couple of questions about the relationships of lines and angles as well as a two-column proof. Once we went over the questions, I believe she understood them a lot better. The two-column proofs at this stage are fairly difficult, so I suggested the strategy of breaking down the information she is given then determining the corresponding reasons.
